The train of horror

Every year in correspondence of the Memorial Day, remembering the Shoah, one carriage of the train that from 1943 to 1945 transferred the Jews to the concentration camps is exposed in the main square in Verona. It can be visited and the names of some of the deported people are listed outside. School children are brought there and they are told what the train represents. Lest we forget
That is so important as many who survived are now aging and leaving this world. It is especially important now since anti-Semitism is rearing its ugly head all over the world again. May we continue to remember and never let this happen again.

Everyone needs to know just how easily humankind can descend to such horrific acts en masse. I pray to God that such a thing never ever happens again. Well done Caterina for posting this today.

It was certainly the right choice to make that picture at night in order to better convey the terrible sadness of the subject.

It's so important that we don't forget! But what power does this picture have compared to the glorification of war in movies?
