Portrait 3/100
Recanati is a town on top of a hill in the region Marche. It is famous for having been the birthplace of one of the greatest Italian poets: Giacomo Leopardi. The Leopardi palace is still the heart of the town and it contains a library, put together by the count Leopardi, Giacomo's father, of 8000 books. The city has organised guided tours to visit the places sung by the poet impersonated by the actor Paolo. Before the beginning of the tour I spent time with Paolo who's originally from Recanati, loves the city and would never leave it. He was nice enough to accept to be part of my project of 100 portraits of strangers. Here he's inside the tourist office where several bottles of the wine produced in the area are also exposed.
