There are more rock fences here than any place in the U.S. They were originally built by Irish immigrant stone masons in the 19th century and 5-10% of them still stand today. All of the stones were laid free-handed with no mortar so they’re easily replaced. You’ll find them everywhere here, alongside the country roads. I’ve been wanting to take a picture of them and this little red mailbox was just a nice accent. Best viewed large.
