I think the first thing most people notice, when they meet my Mama, is her eyes. Not only are they a most beautiful color of blue, it’s what you see behind the eyes that leaves a mark on your heart. You won’t forget her, once you meet her, because you’ll remember how she made you feel. She is hearing impaired so she relies on reading lips and listens to your every word, intently. Whatever she is feeling in her heart, you’ll see it through her eyes.
What an incredible woman she is…warm, humble, full of life, and so compassionate. I’ve always known she was special, but the older I get the more I realize just how very blessed and honored I am to call her my mother.
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you mothers out there. I hope you have a blessed day.
What a beautiful lady. I love her blue eyes that show love, compassion and heart. Excellent portrait and needs to be enlarged and framed. Hope y'all had a lovely mother's day together. This is a wonderful tribute to her.
What a wonderful capture of your mother and wonderful sentiment toward her. She does have incredible eyes. I see the family resemblance as well. This is a terrific portrait shot!
@carolmw@ladyjane@gerry@dauber@karenann@jgilker@swguevin@tthompsonca@copperheadglass@cimes1@debbim@travelingcamper@grannysue - Thank you all for the sweet comments about my Mama. She is such a special lady. I only wish I could have been there with her for Mother's Day -- she lives in Virginia and I live in Kentucky -- but I have two other sisters who live there so they were there to spend the day with her. I feel like I haven't spent much time looking at your pictures this weekend so I hope to catch up tonight. Thanks again!
Your mother is a beautiful lady for sure...what captivating eyes she has! Your portrait is very flattering, I'm sure she would be quite happy with this picture...maybe you could frame it for her??!
@pj - Thanks for the sweet compliments! I didn't inherit her beautiful light, blue eyes, unfortunately! For her Mother's Day present I made copies of all the pictures that I've posted so far, along with the descriptions underneath the picture, 3-hole punched them and put them in a pretty binder. She doesn't have a computer so I thought this would be a way that I could share my passion with her. I've always tried to write her a weekly letter (the old fashioned way) and now I try to include my weekly photos so she can place them in the binder. She seemed to love it.
