@mei photography challenged me to take a shot of the 'golden hour'. So we walked along the beach for about an hour while I took some shots, chatted to some friends and digested our dinner. You cam imagine my dismay to find a scratch on my lens, oh well I'm posting it anyway, tough!
Well done. It's a nice image and a great flare. For your mentor critque I'd suggest keeping an eye on your horizon line. It's just a little tilted which distracts slightly from the image. You could also consider cropping it to portrait so the focus of the shot is on the sun and the light on the water. That might help make it a more striking image. Sorry to hear about the scratch! Golden Hour photography is really good fun. If you get the chance you should try shooting something that has been lit by the sun too and compare it to another time of day so you can play with the light more. x
Thank you @mei photography and @angelar for the sound advice, I can't even draw a straight line with a ruler so I will adjust this and crop it too, I get your point! So sorry I haven't been in touch asking for help, the weather in the Lake District has been fabulous for a week so I've been making the most of it!
@countrylassie Me too @mei_photography - as soon as we set up this little group, life got crazy and I haven't even emailed. At least we can all keep commenting on each other.
