My Mum mentioned before Christmas that she really misses big family get togethers so I organised one for all the family. Made chilli, chicken, salads, dips, puddings etc. Got a phone call an hour after the families arrival time to say my Dad had collapsed in town and had been taken to hospital. Fortunately he is fine (just a severe bug) we all enjoyed the party (eventually) but Mum and Dad missed out :(
Oh, too bad they missed it. We kinda missed out on NYE, too, as my mother-in-law had to be taken to the hospital that morning. Hoping she is out tomorrow.
Sorry to hear about your Dad Lesley and wishing him well. What a shame that your mother missed your get-together though I am sure all the other family members appreciated your efforts. I had forgotten about this game; we played it with the children at work. Good idea.
