Temenos sculpture and Transporter Bridge

The £2.7m Temenos structure took four months to piece together on the banks of the River Tees near the Transporter Bridge, Middlesbrough.

It was woven from thousands of meters of steel wire between the two steel rings to create the 164ft (50m) high and 360ft (110m) long sculpture.

It was created by artist Anish Kapoor and structural designer Cecil Balmond.

It's better on large for the details
An amazing piece of scupture. I went on a transporter bridge in France once, I thought I was really brave!

Interesting sculpture and quite fitting for the area I'm sure. I like the way you have the transporter bridge in the background.

Love the lines and geometry in this, they look great against that blue sky, too. I've seen several pieces of Kapoor's work on 365 and get to like it more and more.

Thank you for your kind words
@dulciknit
It was the lines that made me take it from that angle believe me it's rather lost in its placement near the Middlesbrough riverside stadium!!

@craftymeg Your shot brings them out well. It's such a shame when works like this are installed in a location that kind of swallows them up.
