Eight years ago to celebrate our mothers life, my brother gave all my siblings a shrub rose bearing her name. It flowers every year even though it's not happy in our poor soil, this year it has lasted longer than before and is still flowering it's head off.

Beautiful flowered rose Margaret, if you have poor soil, go and get a bag of compost and a box of slow release fertiliser. Put the bag of compost around the Rose and mix in some of the Fertiliser and water in, repeat over the year if required Margaret. Roses loved food.
