sun lover

these pretty flowers close up at night and I caught this one enjoying our extreme sun and heat today
This pretty flower looks like it is doing well in the heat - how about you? Is there cooling in the forecast?

This photo and flower seem to flourish in the heat. We currently have a windchill of -34 C.

Thought of you when we watched the news of the forest fires near Adelaide and hope you 're safe. The is a very pretty flower

@teiko thanks emilie. The weather has been cooler today making it much better for the hundred of firefighters working to control the fire which is still threatening homes in the Adelaide Hills. Thankfully not in our part of the Hills

@golder365mjsmith I just cannot imagine -34c. Give me +34 any day

@seattlite thankyou Gloria

@flyrobin thankyou Robyn. Hope the fires are nowhere near you

@gigiflower its amazing how some plants can tolerate the heat. I'm aftraid my garden has to as we dont put much water on it

@pennystot thanks for your thoughts. We are always prepared to leave if necessary although deciding what to take with you is difficult and some people have had no opportunity to take anything and have lost everything. The fires are not near out part of the Adelaide Hills this time but we have lots of bushland around which is extremely dry so we are always a bit nervous

@_catherine_ thanks Catherine

@pennystot sadly 26 homes have been destroyed and many farm building and stock as well as a dog and cat boarding kennels and of course our native animals will have suffered too
