in St Leonard's Park, Sydney is a memorial to Mayor William Tunks who was instrumental in setting aside 40 acres as a public park in 1876. Sadly Tunks suffered a fatal fall in the park in 1883 and the fountain was erected in his honour.

thanks for your comments. I now see I called it "Trunks" Fountain when I meant to type "Tunks". I suppose any passing elephants might like to dip their trunks into it ;)
