Trunks Fountain by cruiser

Trunks Fountain

in St Leonard's Park, Sydney is a memorial to Mayor William Tunks who was instrumental in setting aside 40 acres as a public park in 1876. Sadly Tunks suffered a fatal fall in the park in 1883 and the fountain was erected in his honour.
wow that's ironic!

@koalagardens @happypat @onewing
thanks for your comments. I now see I called it "Trunks" Fountain when I meant to type "Tunks". I suppose any passing elephants might like to dip their trunks into it ;)

Lovely fountain and a nice way to remember the benefactor of the park. Such a sad ending though!
