In a small area near our local war memorial there are 9 very tall pine trees that were planted 100 years ago in memory of the 9 men from the district who made the supreme sacrifice during World War I. I am reminded of this every day as I walk past here with my dog. This year being the Centenary of ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) I will post a photo of their memorial stone on the date they died.
There is a group who collect photos of memorials and share them online, to help families trace their lost soldiers. (It's here, if you're interested: http://www.lostancestors.eu/memwar/wmentry.htm)
