Ancient Artistry

watched the creation of this lovely design today. Very time consuming. When the Henna paste dries and falls off the pattern remains on the skin
A beautiful tradition

This is really pretty - amazing detail. It's popular here but I've never done it.

Love the way you have photographed this, neat pattern. Was this for a wedding?

Very artistic. Do you mean that eventually the henna doesn't disappear? I thought it did! Super capture.

@sangwann yes it does disappear eventually but can last from 1-3 weeks depending on quality of henna and type of skin.

@yaorenliu @naomima @deu49097 @teiko @carlt @pennystot @lynda365 @gigiflower @nanm thanks for your comments. No it was not my arm. Mind you I was tempted. I was invited to a gathering held by a group of Indian women. My Indian friend had her hands and feet painted when she was married. A lot of time and work goes into these paintings which eventually disappear

Yes and henna is good if you want to try new tatoos designs yet don't want a permanent one. We do it here for festive occassions. The detailed and elaborate ones are done during wedding and very special occasions. Chris Yay! for trying it.
