Taken me ages to download and sort photos of the great steam train ride last Sunday. A friend won two free tickets and chose to take me. The journey celebrated 150 years of the section of the line from Port Elliott to Victor Harbour. We were VIP's and treated to morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea and arrived home after dark. I shall post some more pics to catch up.
@golder365mjsmith so glad it made you happy. Thanks for the fav. The ride was so exciting with the sounds, smell of coal smoke and the sights as we travelled down to the coast. There were people at every road crossing to wave to us. We felt like royalty :)
Wow! I love such heritage train journeys. My most favorite was at Darjeeling, India. My cousin was raving about the one to Cairns. Lucky you. So I know a VIP now? :)
@anjalikoli We lived in Cairns for 4 years and there is a great little railway that winds up the hills across waterfalls and through rainforest - you must do that too!!
Thankyou all for your comments. It was such a wonderfully nostalgic day. The sights, sounds and smell of the smoke brought back memories of childhood.
thankyou both. It was a great day full of nostalgia
