one of the small skips which were used to pull rock from the historic "Day Dream" silver mine 20km from Broken Hill. Sometimes these were even pulled by young children who squeezed into the small tunnels used as chutes where the miners shovelled the rock they had dug out by hand from the main tunnel.
Fav. Very interesting capture and story. My late husband was a mining engineer who studied in Cardiff school of mines. So I saw a lot and met mining families there in 1960. Is this mine still active?
