May 21: Garden Mysteries

Sometimes when I see a garden, I see all of the colors and all of the flowers and all of the garden design. At other times, the curves, the textures, and the hidden depths pull me inward into the mystery within each blossom.

Thank you for your comments on the two photos I posted yesterday. I was blown away by your positive comments. Even though I admire good black and white photographs, I rarely feel that I produce good quality black and white photos. Thank you so much for your comments. You encourage me to keep trying with black and white.

P.S. For those who are interested, today's shot is a macro of a purple iris blossom.
You have said it all with the beauties of the garden. Light and shade as well as good focus makes this a really nice picture!

You've made a real point about some of the benefits of b&w in that it forces me to focus on something different. Love the texture and lines of this iris.

How lovely, I particularly like how you have worked with the natural light.

The texture of the leaves is remarkable in B&W.

@maggiemae @oopsadaisy @deu49097 @rebecka @pyrrhula Thanks to all of you. I wanted to shoot this in the morning light, but I did not have the time to photograph this until the afternoon. I learned something about the afternoon light through this shot.

@milaniet Thanks! BW is a big challenge to me. I do like BW photos that others take. I am looking forward to seeing what BW shots you come up with.
