May 25: Native Columbine

This is another of the native plants in my garden. I cannot seem to keep the hybrid columbine alive. However, the native columbine thrives in my yard with its red and yellow blossoms. I did not like how the original BW image look, so I inverted the "colors". I rarely do a color inversion that I like. However, the inversion seemed to work here to bring out the flower from the background. I only had time to take pictures late in the day and that had a great deal with how my photo subjects blended into their backgrounds. I will try to remember the color inversion technique the next time I only have the time to take pictures late in the day. I wonder if this technique will work again for me.
Is this what it is - a columbine! Not known to me and at first I thought it was some sort of bat hanging from the ceiling! Wow!

So much detail, I like it in black and white

@maggiemae I am glad that this is not a bat hanging from my ceiling. Bats are OK, but I don't want them in my house.

@oopsadaisy Thanks! I am still experimenting with what looks good in BW and what does not.
