The public library building has intricate details on the exterior walls. Can you imagine how much it would cost to have these intricate details placed on modern building construction!
Probably, today's craftsmen wouldn't know how to do them, without a computer, without a machine and only by hand. Beautiful architecture and a lovely capture.
@golder365mjsmith Thank you for your fav! I do not know how they could afford such architectural details back then. This is library was built with Cargnegie funds. Perhaps the Carnegie monetery support helped. The architectural details inside are fantastic too.
@sangwann Thanks. I agree that today's craftsmen would have a difficult time creating these architectural details. This library building suffered damage during a recent severe drought. The exterior of one wing had to be taken off and put back on. The front wall had to be patched. Historical rennovation experts did the work. However, the walls do not look the same as in previous years. I am afraid that the knowledge of how to create such architectural details may be gone.
