This is a close up of a Christmas tree ornament that I have never hung on my Christmas tree. About fourteen years ago, I wanted to buy something as a reminder of the millenmium year. I bought a book with the highlights of the last 1,000 years. Then, I saw this ornament. This was sold as a millenmium collectible. it is called "Time and Direction" and was designed by a Canadian artist, for the company Innovation. I cannot read the name of the artist. This ornament is quite different than my usual tree ornaments. That is OK. I just like looking at the design of this ornament in its box. This is one of my ornaments that I sometimes display year round. I did take some time today to take some time out of my everyday life.
Then, I got pulled right back into life. The mother of a dear friend of mine died today. I met my friend in the art class that I take weekly at the senior center. I spent a lot of time on the phone this evening calling the other members and the teacher of our class to let them know the sad news. This mother probably died as a result of the flu. This evening I also received notice that one of my clubs is not meeting next week due to the flu epidemic. I usually look at the 365 project photos in the evening. There was no time for that this evening. Everyone, please, be careful and stay healthy.
Its a fascinating ornament - like a clock - difficult to determine how big it is. We seem to have so many fatalities lately - guess its our age but as you say, take care and look after yourself!
I am sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. I hope the year improves from here on out and that things will get back to normal as quickly as possible. You will be in my prayers. You've captured some nice details on the ornament and it offers sage advice as well.
