This is part of a study I am doing on morning light. I did this in both BW and color to see the differences and to keep up my participation in the Flash of Red (BW) February challenge. The subject is a leaf from a prayer plant. This week, I am trying to do macro shots that show the background, so that there is "a sense of place". This leaf continues this theme.
I did make it to the photo club last night. For the program, we saw a video from a National Geographic photographer. He talked about lead photos and place setter photos for photo essays. He talked about taking great photos, instead of good photos. He challenged us to go to a place that we don't normally photograph and try his tips. When it warms up, this will be fun to do. I entered four photos into the club's monthly photo theme contest (antique kitchen tools). Two photos received third place votes and one photo received a second place vote. I was happy by these results. As the club historian, I presented the history book for 2014 and a PowerPoint presentation showing the higlights of the club in 2014. Both were well received. I was also happy about that. It was a good meeting.
