Sometimes, the amaryllis blossoms become so top heavy that the bloom stalk snaps. Even though I had a plant stalk holder, the second blossom stalk of the Royal Velvet Amaryllis broke. I placed the stalk into a vase so I could keep on enjoying the blossoms.
