I walked up to our polling place this morning as I had already voted. Ran into a friend who was campaigning for someone running for office. I wanted to get a photo of the VERY long line. This section represents probably 10% of the line. I was far away so that I didn't intrude on the people. After looking at the photo, I noticed my two sons there in line! Imagine that! I knew they were there, but at that exact spot?? Youngest son is in the white shirt yawning as he had already been waiting 2.5 hours. Oldest son is a bit hidden behind him in the blue shirt. They both attended this elementary school. I am proud they have both voted for the RIGHT person! :-)
@raineyday Not at all! My oldest just told me that it took another hour after voting just to scan the ballot since they only had one scanner and our ballot is 4 pages double sided!
@clmiller Thanks, Caren! A while back, they declared a school holiday on election day to protect the kids. A friend early voted on Saturday and waited 6.5 hours!
@danette Oh, wow. Here in Texas my vote doesn't count so much, because we're going for Romney anyway. In Florida, we NEED your vote so your state will go RED!!! :)
@clmiller We are doing our best! One son's girlfriend didn't vote (not registered here)...which may be a good thing for us and other son's girlfriend is probably going against us...but my whole family voted! We are actually in a very Democratic county here. Holding my breath and knowing that ultimately God's in charge.
Wow -- long lines, and well, not the results you (or I) were hoping for, but still good to exercise the right to vote. How funny that you happened to catch your sons in line!!
I early voted a week ago Sunday, and the line was maybe 10 minutes, if that.
Not that it matters, but has Florida figured out yet who the state went for?
@ariel817 Took me 90 minutes to early vote. I heard some people were voting for 45 minutes. I am guessing they didn't read the ballot ahead of time????
I have lost interest in hearing about whether or not Florida is finished tabulating. It is inexcusable that the polling places in Miami-Dade were understaffed and unprepared. Let us not lose site of our country's foundations.
@bardejov Especially considering the very long line. I didn't look for them or text them because I thought they'd be buried somewhere.
@purdey Yeah, more neck and neck than it appears. Not sure if Florida's count is even registered yet as the last voted was in at 1:00 AM!
@myautofocuslife Thank you, Livia!!
@bobbyj Thanks, Bobby!
