I have always been fascinated with this style of home. A big part of that is probably that you don't see too many tile roofed homes in the north. I wonder looking at this if you'd have the feeling that you living in a prison with the window panes running vertical?
@skipt07 Most of the homes in my town are required by deed restriction to have tile roofs. Pricey to replace but they last longer. I have not been in a house with these vertical mullions, so I don't know! I have never sold a house older than probably 1972.
@danette - There is a home we pass on our way to church that was built by a Greek family. It is a good sized brick home with a tile roof. After they placed the tile everything came to a standstill. I heard through the grapevine that they hadn't put in a footer to support the roof and it was declared unsafe. Months passed, maybe even a year or so and we noticed their were people living in it. I have no idea what they might have done to correct the problem. How would you add to a footer with a house sitting on it? I am sure there must be away.
