I didn't realize that Passion Flowers grew in the Everglades.

@marlboromaam I wasn’t even sure it was a Passion flower as it was growing along the ground. There are so many different varieties

Oh my gosh; I just spotted this! I got my first bloom on a new vine the other day...photographed it in the late afternoon and it was closed by morning! I selected a plant that would bear fruit (as it's an immense favorite of mine!!!) Sometimes they'll only be flowering plants, but either way, they smell wonderful! (They're a tropical plant, and I think I read that it was priests in Brazil that named them for the Passion of Christ, so I think they're in the right climate!)

If it's open-access land, return in a couple of weeks and look for either deep purple or yellow green fruit. You don't pick it, but wait for it to fall off and you'll know it's ripe. Even wrinkled like a prune, they can taste amazing and juicy on the inside! Think "Tropical Smoothie" and add frozen mango, banana, kiwi, and plain yogurt. And some fruit juice. I add my guava that I save...maybe you have that as well! It's a taste of pure Heaven!!!
