This chap was happily posing for pictures and taking in the passing visitors with much fascination. Luckily, it wasn't too busy - so I had plenty of opportunity to take some shots of him!
The Welsh Mountain Zoo, sometimes called Colwyn Bay Zoo, is a zoological garden located near the town of Colwyn Bay in Conwy County, Wales. The zoo was opened on 18 May 1963 by the wildlife enthusiast and naturalist Robert Jackson and covers an area of 37 acres (15 ha).
It has many interactive features for adults and children alike which includes a daily penguin walk, sea lion and seal shows, a chimpanzee world and chimp encounter, a children's farm and aviary.
The zoo itself is set in North Wales, high above Colwyn Bay with panoramic views and breathtaking scenery!
Great capture! ... we visited a Gibbon sanctuary in Thailand, unfortunately it was the middle of the day & didn't see any but could hear them in the jungle.
A great capture. The texture of the fur is wonderful. Seeing mention of Colwyn Bay takes me back to my childhood when we lived near Liverpool and used to holiday on the north Wales coast.
