During this time, my daughter and I have been the sole chefs of the family (willingly I might add), but she had nothing to do with this meal as she is vegan.
Rumi's is a restaurant group in our area that we love (Persian cuisine). They created a Rumi's Pantry for produce like you might pick up at a farmer's market, with lots of their signature mixes, bread dough, and good ole fashioned produce. I bought a veggie box, sirloin steaks, and the bread dough for our 24th wedding anniversary and that meal was fabulous (I made my famous Mediterranean eggplant), but I had some steaks to grill today with some pasta that I mixed some homemade pesto with.
Rumi's produce was awesome--it fills in my desire for farmer's market produce at the moment.
I worked in the garden today pulling up the Apple tree roots so I can grow vegetables. My car is broken. I broke my toe just as we quarantined. I pulled my back also. I cut my hand today. I lost my job.
Looks like a very tasty steak! Being a great cook during a quarantine must be wonderful. I am just an average cook, and cooking is not my favorite thing. (Maybe because I know I need to eat healthy but I like good ole' southern cooking like Mama and my Grandmother made). So sorry about all the difficult things you are enduring but you seem to have a very good attitude... finding things of gratitude.
@jgpittenger it is nice one of my girls experiences the thrill of cooking with me. It makes this time so much more pleasant. Rest assured we eat more veggies than meat!
Looks delicious, although I wouldn't eat it either, being mostly vegetarian. Hopefully, this made up for some of your struggles. Hang in there! Things have to turn around soon!
