Today marks the beginning of my third month on 365! It was also another bleak, boring day outside, and while I went out to take yet another "bark" photo to have something to upload, I turned to my "wall of knives" again in the kitchen to play with my camera and the settings on it.
My favorite pan is my cast iron pan; tonight the burgers I had frying away produced some cool vapors--I couldn't catch them really, so I sat on the floor and kept aiming for the steam from below, but I ended up featuring the handle of the pan. After cropping and some edits, I ended up with an alien-like head shot (a spin on the selfie perhaps?).
Oh, and today marks the day I decided to go for the Ace membership--thanks to everyone who has been so supportive here. I'm smitten by this site and the people on it!
@markp It's really just "all I had"--I mean, I had taken photos of bubbles in the sink, bark on trees, and a wrench -- but this is what I came up with. :)
Love the background colours and the dof. Great indoor shot. Brilliant that you've taken the plunge and got the ace membership too. I find it's lovely to be able to add a few extra shots when you've taken more than one that you like.
Would never have guessed what this was Daryl! I thought it was part of a modern sculpture! Looks great against that wonderful green background! Congrats on 2 months - roll on March! : )
What an effective angle to capture the cast iron skillet in order to get the "Iron woman" look! Is she an "Iron Chef" as well? LOL. In Japan, where the show originates, the word for "iron chef" also means "magician."
