My Last Day of My Forties-My Favorite Photo from Year One
As you will see very soon; that is, if you go to tomorrow's final entry for Year Two, I have made a slide show of my favorite shots, but only one includes a shot from Year One. I never got to the "make a slideshow of your experience" part because we had an unfortunate family loss at the time. So because I did not take a shot today, my very last day of being in this half-century, I wanted to show you all what shot I was most proud of in Year One.
It was called Temptation 3. I had been asked by my Get Pushed Partner Joe to do some light painting. Here is the original: http://365project.org/darylo/365/2013-11-20 This was taken as one shot. A fireplace match (I only had two to get it done, so it was going to work or not work). I did slow shutter, low ISO, and it was in...my 1/2 bath on top of the toilet--complete darkness. The red texture is a place mat. 3 regular apples, and one lucky swipe of a match.
Go to the next page. I'm done! I've loved Year Two. If you can get through the massive narrative I have written and the super long video, you will get hot dog points on the house. :) LOVE YOU ALL!
I'm visualising you in a half bath on top of the toilet and feel that you are either a very small person or your toilet is huge! Very good result with a match and the apples are a great addition!
So I'm sitting here at 11pm with at least an hour of exam-writing left to do, really wishing I could just hang out and watch your vid and read your thing and take it all in... but it looks like I'm going to have to do that on your bday instead.
I never saw this photo—I'd taken my break before then—and I just realized that pretty much all 10+ minutes of the vid is going to be new to me... and that's an exciting thing. Anyway happy birthday a few minutes early, and I'll spend some quality time with your art tomorrow.
@nanderson I WISH. I am such a late learner, and then I have no time, so it's really a rough thing done with a program online that was free. Quality is low, but it'll do. :)
I'll be traveling all day tomorrow and will certainly miss the whole day of 365 so let me tell you happy birthday🎵🎶🎵 to you right now! I'll catch up when I get home!
This photo is amazing! I kept looking at it wondering how you "wrapped the flame around the apples" without "appearing" in the image itself!
I have to share something about "perspective with you... A birthday present if you will... When my father turned 50, I recall writing him a poem that focused on the fact that he was now a half-century old... and my goodness that seemed VERY old at the time! My fifties came and went (without a poem) and now, 18 mo(no..19...still getting used to that!) more years down the road, I realize just how YOUNG 50 was!!! Relish the year, because you're about to step into the best half of your life!

This photo ROCKS BTW.
