My Last Sunday in My First Half-Century: A Day of Rest and a "Redo" of Claw Row
Tuesday, I submit my first photo for critique for 2015, and I spent a good amount of time working on this photo to make it better than the original I had already processed. You might like to see the original for comparison. I posted it at the end of November http://365project.org/darylo/didn-t-make-cut/2014-11-30 . I asked for a critical eye from some friends, and here is what I did:I eliminated distractions above the machines (I had to use a graduated filter because honestly, my "heal/clone" capabilities are still lacking); eliminated distractions on the left; made the right and left more flush with the edge (that involves constraining crops and going for the vertical distortion slider in LR5--learned that trick from my editing friends!!); and cloned out a distracting puddle.
This image is what I submitted, but now I see that some of the flareupon the ground distract the eye for some, but I'm satisfied with it as a first entry in the 2015 Photographic Society months of critiques! I'm there for feedback after all.
I couldn't even post this shot on time for 365 as I am feverishly trying to figure out how to make a slideshow for the end of Year Two and failing pretty miserably. On top of that, holiday, dentist appointments, work, you know, life!
