Mockingbird by darylo

Mockingbird

Yesterday, I promised the screen on the window was coming down, and many thanks to my husband who stood below to catch it as it came down safely. A little wipe of the window and this guy came by to mock me a bit. Lovely. I have a feeling I'll be having more "bird in cherry tree" photos as the blooms start to develop! The sun is out too! Ahh, now warmth, come on! Oh, I forgot, I'm being mocked! :)
a very beautiful photo Daryl fav

@michellelittle Thanks Michelle!

What a gorgeous shot Daryl. So nice and clear. If I do this, the little beggars normally stand so that there is a branch right across the face or stomach!
March 27th, 2013
@vskolnik I'll keep you guessing! :) So glad I got that darned screen off. I even kept the window up for awhile to capture the finches again (but it was so cold and the morning light was too abrupt for my lens). What's nice about this location is that I have the camera right here AND the birds just make a call to say "hey, I'm ready for my close up lady!" Yay!
March 27th, 2013
@steampowered Yes, the branch tactic--I'm very familiar--that's why my focus is often OFF, and I do it manually because the branches really do not work with auto focus as much as I've tried. I believe that a part of a branch is on this bird creating a bit of fuzziness toward the top of his head--some day, I'll know how to PS that out right? :)

Wow this is lovely especially with the blossom threatening to pop open. Nice shot.
March 27th, 2013
@witchyjacq I really cannot wait for the pop. This tree is just spectacular in bloom. I'm guessing it'll pop the moment I leave for Florida and then drop all petal before I get back after 7 days. It's just my luck. Oh, now I get why the Mocking bird was in the tree........

Beautiful shot, Daryl, you certainly have a wonderful backdrop for your shots, it should look really good in blossom.

fab. I love the matrix of the branches you captured as the mockingbird checks out the situation.
March 28th, 2013
@shunter I have really never noticed mockingbirds nearby until I took a photo of one and someone told me what it was! I'm turning into a "birder" I think! :)

Great capture. I saw one of these on my walk yesterday but wasn't fast enough to capture it. Congrats on the PP.
March 29th, 2013
@sailingmusic Thanks very much Myrna--if you asked me a month ago what this bird is, I would not have been able to tell you! In fact, I took a shot of a Mockingbird on a wire one day and a fellow 365er had to tell me what it was. I'm really loving "birding" now and capturing them to learn about what is in my front and back yards! :)
March 29th, 2013
Congrats on PP with my favorite bird of all. Can never resist faving a great mockingbird shot, so I did ;-)
