Today, I finally got to go see the Frida and Diego art exhibit at the HIGH Museum in midtown Atlanta (here is the photo I took of the "sign" announcing the exhibit during the "Give Me Direction" challenge by @orangecrush : http://365project.org/darylo/365/2013-04-17). I've been craving an urban experience as I live in a suburban area (nice, yes, but I so miss the city where I grew up). I was not allowed to photograph the exhibit, but the museum has such a wonderful modern feel to it that I took several in the atrium (will probably post more) and outside as the weather fluctuated.
My mother and I went to the exhibit together, and we went in for a quick lunch at Table 1280 (I think that's the name) right across from the museum. I took a quick shot of a museum façade right before going into lunch and then took another after coming out. I love the contrast!
And once again, I'm digging the Picasa collage maker (thanks again @Squamloon, even if you don't see this tag!).
@danette@witchyjacq@jodimuli@shunter@demmie Thanks all! I really loved the contrasts--meal was awesome--delicious carrot soup while the skies were deciding which way to go! :)
This is fantastic! Love the before-after contrast, and although the latter is probably something I'd prefer to have in a real-life, I must say that the rich dark color of the sky in the first photo looks much more impressive to me!
This is so different than birds, yet you seem to be equally creative with it :) Fantastic collage Daryl!
@taffy@foxsparrow@lunaksi@rossevs@andyn@wind_of_the_sothern_sea Thanks everyone! It was, admittedly, so nice to get away from bird photography, which I love, but I crave lines, architecture, and shadows, and dramatic skylines with modern buildings! It was hard to pic which shot, so I decided on the diptych!
@squamloon You are very kind, monsieur! Did I tell you I studied in France my jr. year in undergrad--like ages ago. Best year ever. My youngest is about to take French and she is soooo excited. Moi aussi! :)
@squamloon I was in Biarritz for one month and then I was in Paris (16th Arr.) for the rest of the school year. I went with the Hamilton College program, but I attended Connecticut College in those years. We were stationed at a place called Reid Hall in Paris, but I took courses at Institut Britannique (French contemporary novel), Institut Catholique (French Film), and grammar and theatre with the visiting profs. at Reid Hall. I have never been back sadly.

But I didn't get a notification. ;^)
