I suspect there are house wren eggs in there given the amount of visitation I've seen. My grill is nearby and each time I come out to put something on, the wren exits and heads to a low bush. I'll go back in and it will return to the house. It's pretty funny how the wren will poke his/her head out and just look around like a diligent "watcher." It's like s/he's just bored to tears, but aware, aware, aware.
@darylo I don't know, I saw your rib photo and your presentation was fabulous. My meat is on the BBQ. So we can have points in 2 categories: Presentation and Mouthwateringness.
D, you caught the little birdie perfectly. The painted flower motif around the hole to the birdhouse looks almost like a handsome bird collar! Must be a happy home. Wrens are so small, it's hard to imagine wren babies. They must be teensy.
@shunter Aidan's painting does, indeed, make a nice collar! I cannot wait to see a real baby wren--that is, if some other predator doesn't get in like they did with the chickadees--oh, the horror!
@jyokota Thanks Junko! I'm heading over to your photos! Have missed you! Oh, and good news I'll share with you, as I know you can appreciate: Kira won "Top Titan" for Japanese in 2nd Year of Japanese--oh, she was sooooo proud. I'm so happy for her too. What a wonderful language to study. :)
@darylo -- I'm so proud of your daughter, too!!! It's a very difficult language to study, and she sounds very committed. I'm getting ready to accompany the Japanese teacher at our local high school and take 20 teenagers to Japan for two weeks! We'll be posting our photos on 365, of course!
Love this little birdie, especially the way she's framed by this yellow star :)
