So excited to have hummingbirds at the new feeder! This is my first attempt at capturing them. It's raining, dark, and I'm in the kitchen looking out the window, so I'm hoping it's not too grainy, but a little chuffed here to get such clarity given the situation!

You may notice I'll have more attempts at hummingbirds--so excited to have the regular visits now by at least two I can see as regulars (and they come back pretty consistently every 10 or so minutes). Such wonderful colors! I'm not hummingbird expert, but I looked up some info last night and I THINK it may be a female broad-tailed hummingbird.
@photofella Without the proper light, I doubt I'll get those wings in focus, but once the sun decides to show its self again, I'll try! Thanks for the comments!
Wheeee! Yay! you got one! I spend time at two houses, so not sure I am ever going to get up my h bird feeder and be able to change the food in it every other day...I guess I could change it as I leave the lake, and then put more in when I get up on the weekend, but I hear it spoils faster than that. Darn. I guess I could put it at the other house, but it is shady there....So I am still trying to decide where to put the feeder and now itis probably too late! Congrats on such a great shot!
@espyetta I'm replacing every 4-5 days. I got a lovely feeder from my dad's friend. Got a bunch of shots today too. Downloading LR5 on my laptop today too so I can use it when I'm too lazy to go upstairs or when I'm traveling for work (rare, but would be nice to have). I hope you had a nice 4th was it at the lake? We haven't even gotten up to the lake this week because of the rain. booooo! As soon as the sun comes back, we are going to Lanierworld. :)
@darylo I actually see some hint of SUN right now. But it has rained rained rained. We did not rush up yesterday, due to that,but got up here around 4 PM. Maybe I will go down and swim some... Have fun at Lanierworld! OH, if you change the sugar water/food every 5 days, I could do that. I also have read if you paint your bottle so it is not transparent, the food spoils slower....
