Peace to everyone. @orangecrush Jerry Plume, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for this one last One Night Stand series in my first year--I've done 3 ONStands in a year, and they have challenged me in ways that are extremely fun and satisfying--doing it collectively around the world is such a thrill.
My first one night stand series had me going all over the place not knowing ONE THING, but by the third series, I have taken a shot with my tripod each time, and I'm aware of many (not all) of the knobs on my equipment. I've been able to rely on the skills I have learned from so many other 365ers, and for that I am deeply thankful and jolly.
Can I ask a question. I am very new and want to know if the Raynox DCR 250 Converter you suggested earlier for close ups will work on my Panasonic DMC FZ30? I love the extreme close ups and you look like a master at it to me.
@miata2u Sorry, see comment above. Forgot to tag you. The only thing you really need on your lens are "threads" for it to catch and hold. Hope this helps. Thanks for the comments!
Congratulations on an awesome ONS series! I loved following you photos and always enjoy your narratives, too. It is pretty exciting to look back on this year and see how far we have all come! This is a beautiful image! Love your composition and the great focus! very festive and lovely.
@rvwalker Thanks Ross. I would have loved it if the dreaded Selfie did not get in the mix, but it's all part of the fun and terror of seven days/nights of craziness. I felt I was finally up for the challenge with at least some skill this time. And I made nice with the tripod. I used it seven days and I think all year I've used it maybe 7 or so times before this week! Thanks for your comments.
Daryl, you are a hard one to challenge as you've tried so many different things! Have you had the challenge yet of choosing five items from five different rooms to create a still life? If you have, then Plan B is a diptych, one have b&w, half color, that contrast how an aspect of photographic quality/techniques changes the meaning of an image. Hope one of these appeals!
This is beautiful, Daryl! Reading your commentary gave me warm fuzzies! Thank you for the kind words and it is so much fun joining you in one night stands! :) You are going to be around next year, right?
@taffy I have not done a still life with the five items from five rooms--it's perfect for our rainy days! I don't know the last time I have seen the sun. Sigh.
