How lovely! It doesn't look anything like the maples grown here. I wonder if you have a Japanese maple? I'm hoping to be able to grow one here (if this freaking winter would ever leave!)
@taffy I had to swap the original photo because I couldn't find the bud I was tracking but it's interesting how some progress faster than others. Trees are about to produce record levels of pollen (already took one kid to the Dr. today :/).
