Can get launch in safe mode so backing up to external drive everything I need and will wipe clean and start over. Hard drive may be fried.

@grammyn I'm afraid the three rule has not been activated, and I normally have only three and then three great things happen. I've got some kind of curse on me lately. Waaaah, but thanks for all your nice visits--it cheers my day, honestly. Still transferring files--will take at least another day, so I'm in front of computer and making all the calls I have put off all the time! :)
