Ok, so today, I'm officially beginning a third album--why? Not sure really, but I got so excited about the Al Servo challenge because I never knew what it was and had something new to learn that could possibly change the quality of my photos--and boy, was I missing an important piece of knowledge in terms of moving subjects and focus issues. Yes, I'm that new to it all!
So tonight, I selected the feature and took photos of one of my friend's sons playing in the mud at the soccer fields. Check out that focus on the water with his hands! No, it's not great, but it's a ton, ton, ton better than what I would normally get because I was always set on one shot focus. LIFE Changer here folks. Celebrate with me. I can't wait to see what I'll be doing this week--it gives me a chance to continue stalking moving objects: birds, children, bees (ahhh, I will get you bee!), water--but with a better chance of focus accuracy than before. I'm just happy!
Oh, and also, huge accomplishment (while I'm really making a big deal out of nothing, but some of you will know that I've had collage making difficulties), this is my first collage. Cheers! Clink!
@spair I know, seriously. I'm jumping up and down. If I could take a photo of me jumping up and down (Al Servo, of course), I'm sure it'd be in focus!!! Oh, and I think you are one of the poor souls I have pestered about making collages, right? I'm just beside myself. Hehe.
I'm jumping up and down for you and I've never even HEARD of Al Servo! The collage is great and in clear focus and I love the subject matter. I'm jumping up and down for you!
@colie Thanks! I'm really very pleased to learn this technique. I'm going to do more research today. How great was it that my friend's kid was playing in the mud. I should have made a collage where I had the non-AI servo shots (which were not very in focus -- but I think I was off target anyhow), and then the AI servo. But this was a good start foe me! :)
@lubybee Yay! We're jumping! I have been on 365 now almost four whole months and I have learned how to go for manual settings with some ease, I've learned about using a tripod, and well, I'm just learning a new thing all the time. Before, I just pointed and shot and let the camera do everything--which is just fine (thankfully, processing can help anything), but I love that I'm learning what my camera can do if I've got an idea I want to execute in conjunction with the settings. Just feels wonderful when a shot comes out well. So glad that I have 365 friends who like doing this too! :)
