Thanking the Lake for All Its Gifts -- Ulun Danu -- Bali Series
These women, dressed in the traditional Kebaya (their lace tops) are taking their ceremonial offerings out to the lake at Ulun Danu temple. The Kebaya is really beautiful, but I believe the earliest form of outfit for women (much earlier) was no top at all until colonialism spread. The acceptance of this outfit as a national outfit was later (my reading on it is not finished, so I'll not speculate).
I really enjoyed the beautiful patterns of lace and colors, especially in this scene where the colorful boat seems to complete the colorful nature of their worship!
