Meiji Shrine. This photo begins my Japan series of photos. I will most likely add some more from Bali, but if I don't start editing the Japan leg of my trip, I will fall too far behind!
For those of you who have been following this album, I took a wonderful bucket-list trip to Japan and Bali. I arrived in June of 2015. My first five days were in Japan, Tokyo 3 days and Kyoto 2. It was a whirlwind compared to the time I spent in Bali afterwards.
This photo is my favorite I took while in Japan. It was the rainy season in Japan and it rained most of the time I was there! My second day, I went to Meiji Shrine. Once I made it to the main temple area, the heavens opened and hoards of rain came down upon us all. I took shelter in the awnings while watching some very official event end inside one of the temple buildings.
This young woman exited the building on the way to the kiosk across the way (where she was a vendor--the temple sold small items such as fortunes or wooden placards for prayers and sentiments).
I'm going to come back to edit this. I'm in a bit of a rush, but I wanted to go ahead and get Japan started! If you are still following me, many thanks for your support. I almost lost these photos the other day and I decided I must keep plugging along! Merry Christmas to all!
@danette The backup and the files have been fine. They correspond to the photos when I export them now, but the catalog in LR does not have everything by folder. I have put investigating on hold until the new year. Merry Christmas Danette. I know you will be having a great day celebrating. You are a true blessing. :)
Daryl, this is a brilliant composition! I love the color blocks and the elegance of her walking. AND PS -- Jim gave me 'THE' backpack today! Well, a photo of it as it's still on it's way. THANK YOU for the advice!!!!
One of my all time favourite images Daryl! I love this shot! So elegant with such beautiful colours! I have already git "the" backpack in yellow! The blue was £60 more expensive! @taffy Taffy you won't be able to loose me! Huge Fav for your shot Daryl - looking forward to your Japan images!
@pamknowler I know re the cost -- but Jim found one on Amazon that was in the 'used' section but had never been used so he grabbed it for me. I'm very excited to see it! And we won't get them mixed up!
@darylo I did get the blue -- because Jim (we) found one that was listed as used on Amazon, but the comment said it had never been used. It should arrive in the next week and I'm optimistic as it was from a high rated seller. I'll keep you posted!
