Presentation Matters--Japan Series--Day 2

Many of my friends make fun of me when I say "presentation matters" when it comes to food. My kitchen and house are covered with pretty serving dishes (from the smallest dish to the largest). I just think the whole culinary experience includes artistic delivery! In Japan, I witnessed this over and over from the most basic presentation to the most intricate. I should have bought a bowl or two, but I really do have too many...so this photo will have to do! May print for my kitchen after it's renovated.
Lovely assortment. Just want to linger and take in each piece.

@grammyn That is if I can actually pull off a renovation. We just ordered all new appliances--will replace cabinets and everything. yikes. I'm not cut out for this kind of stuff. I'd rather cook and put stuff on pretty plates! But with a burned counter, a cooktop that doesn't work, a broken microwave, I think we are getting the official sign that the kitchen needs a "do over." Ha!

Nice collection of bowls! I like hand painted dishes too.

I just love little bowls, and these are lovely how they are all painted. I would have ended up with a suitcase full.

I would have been tempted to buy some, so very pretty. I think this would be a great kitchen print, good luck with the renovations!

This is quite an amazing still life, for it's geometry and design, and because it captures Japan's culture of food presentation so well.
