Arriving late to XC races is a bad idea, especially if you don't know the course. That was me this weekend unfortunately. These great athletes saw me trying to take shots, and I caught them coming down the hill walking and talking initially (those running the races hadn't made it to here yet). The one girl on the left posed and I said "ugh! that was great, but it didn't come out; would you mind both going up to the top of the area where the light is so I can take a test shot with you in it?" And they said yes, and I told them where the shot would be so they could retrieve it. This was the only shot I could get in this area (light was not good for race, but it was good for a nice portrait of friends at the races!).
Next weekend, I'll be using a 100-400mm lens again.
We are about to get hit by hurricane Irma tomorrow. Hoping power does not go. I've tried to pull inside all the stray things outside that could get plucked up by wind. Pray everyone stays safe, especially all our 365 friends still in harms way in FL.
@stimuloog So far, the winds have picked up and some rain, but I think it has shifted some and dissipated. We have today and tomorrow off from school, so we'll see. I'm optimistic that it will be fine.
@rosiekerr@jamibann@pamknowler@grammyn Thanks everyone. So far, the winds are out there, but not horrible and the rain is not pelting everywhere like I imagined. I think it will get a bit worse as the day unfolds into evening. I'm remaining optimistic. Katy, will it make it's way there too?
Thinking about you for the next couple of days as we hunker down for the weather
