It was a fun morning getting work in order on the back patio, drinking coffee, and picking up my camera when activity came around. This little juvenile cardinal was surprised that I was ready for him when I heard him rustling in the apple tree and made his move to the ground.
He jumped to an old tire rim that I recycled as a planter just off the patio (well, it's supposed to become a planter--so now, technically it's acting as my scrap metal yard art). Isn't morning light luscious? After a summer of rain, rain, rain, I'm taking every opportunity to work in my outdoor office!
That morning light is fabulous, and that little baby is very sweet. Good thing you were prepared! Sounds like a perfect morning to me -- coffee, outdoor office, camera, bird . . . sounds like that yard art came in handy!
