So amazing, it looks perfect Deborah. You really have a good hand for it. We just took everything down as well apart from the tree, that is for tomorrow. I feel like it is very empty in the living room now tho
Thank you. I do love decorating the house, at Christmas and in general. My home is very important to me and gives me great pleasure.
We're doing the same thing as you, taking down the decorations other than the tree today. We will take the tree down on Monday, as the City will pick up trees Tuesday for re-cycling as mulch in city parks or some such useful purpose. I want to get our tree in on the recycling.
I know the living room will look empty at first and larger than the cozy arrangement when the tree is here. It's been a nice quiet time over Christmas. All good things must come to an end, though, and it's time to move on into the new year.
It's hard to let Christmas go, but it's time. I read a 19th century story by William Dean Howells in one of my Christmas anthologies, about a little girl who said she wished it could be Christmas every day. She got her wish and--of course--was soon sick of eating all the sweets and rich food, getting too many presents, and all the rest of it. So, it's time to move on and Christmas will come again next year. I'll love it all over again.
