Pohutukawa leaves by dide

Pohutukawa leaves

These are the leaves from pohutukawa trees on our section. The pohutukawa are hardy, salt and dry tolerant native NZ trees. They have lovely red flowers in December and January and because of this, they are often called the NZ Christmas tree. They look best enlarged.
This looks lovely Dianne, I really like the different shades of color. Also I like how some bugs/insects have been having a feed, very real!!

Love the clarity and colour ranges of these leaves. Even the holes are interesting. Beautiful shot.

Smashing shot! When my grandmother spent six months in NZ (many years ago now) she would regale me with stories about the local flora and fauna and I can recall her having a great fondness for Pohutukawa trees.
