We had 30 kids come to our place to plant trees today. After a week of scrappy, rainy, unsettled weather, the day turned out sunny and calm. They were a neat bunch of kids and planted about 600 trees. My job today, was to feed them morning tea and lunch - they were good eaters!!!
The image shows them getting a safety briefing before going onto the site. Last year's planting can be seen beyond where the group is standing.
@maggiemae@julzmaioro@deliad Yes, they ate heartily! The schools grow the trees as part of a 'Trees for Survival' programme, so the kids get to see the whole process.
