We had a lovely picnic tea in Cornwall Park the other evening. This was the view we had - we were sitting on a ridgetop part way up the hill. One Tree Hill is a volcanic cone and is also known as Maungakiekie. The beautiful old pohutukawa still had a few red flowers on it and there were lots of juvenile tui coming in to feed on the nectar.
