Nikau by dide

Nikau

The delicate flowers of NZ's only native palm. The berries are eaten by the kereru (native wood pigeon) and take up to a year to ripen. In the past, Maori used nikau leaves for thatching huts and weaving into mats and baskets. It is the most southern growing palm.
Nicely put together and interesting information, thank you!
