I had a lovely day out with @julzmaioro and @kiwichick and her son today. We met for lunch at Coromandel and then went to Driving Creek Railway. This railway was started by Barry Brickell in 1973. Barry was a potter and needed the railway line to transport clay to his pottery shed. In later years, the narrow-gauge railway line was extended to take the public to a viewing point, high in the native bush area. Over the years, 20,000 trees have been planted to help with the regeneration process.
Thanks @julzmaioro for a great day out. It was lovely to meet up with you again @kiwichick and so great to view the world through a 10 year old's eyes. Nice to meet you Rueben - enjoy your last week on your NZ holiday.
Lovely composition taking the eye through from left to right wondering whats around the bend, what a way to spend the day together I would love it also Dianne:)
I went there a few years ago. When we got to the top, Barry was up the top and told us a little about his story. He didn't take the train, he walked up.
