Our small town has an annual ANZAC Parade to commemorate all the servicemen and women who fought on our behalf. This year, the parade was cancelled as the police were needed for security in other areas. So, instead of the police closing the road, the good people of our town decided to go ahead and have the march from the Town Hall to the Cenotaph and use the footpath. The service was short, but so important that people could pay their respects and lay wreaths at the Cenotaph.
What a wonderful heart warming story and collage Dianne, so nice to see the whole community young and old together remembering all those that paid such a high price for us:)
I'm sorry to say Anzac day isn't commemorated so much over here,I found out in the last six months my grandfathers two Australian nephews were killed 1917.
A super series of shots of this memorial event. It's so important that we remember and commemorate those who gave everything in the interests of peace.
