We are back in the North Island again and had to travel through this small town.
This sign is significant to our family, because dad was born in this tiny town 100 years ago. We always used to tease him about it, because it is tiny and remains so, even today!
Nice that they mark the small town with such a big kiwi! @pcoulson I looked up the pronunciation after reading your comment to see if my Japanese pronunciation was correct and other than the emphasis on one syllable it was like pronouncing a Japanese word :)
Great you past through Eketahuna.. a little town with a big name.. And look you have people from around the world learning the correct probounciation of Maori place names ..
@dide I especially love the Google translate app because it will take a visual language with the camera and translate it so even languages that don't use alphabetic writing can be translated.
