We all experience detours in life, and we all handle them in our own way. How we handle them often depends on where we were headed, what we were intending to do, or the level of excitement in our anticipation. How big is the disappointment? Some of us may even have grown accustomed to disappointments in life, so what's another one, right? I try to be "mature" whenever I run into one of life's detours. The key word here is "try" and since I am human, there were a few times in my lifetime that I just throw a big old fit, LOL. Not since I have matured of course..cough, cough. That hasn't happened often, but there have been a few occasions. Seriously, I have learned that in most cases when things don't go the way I planned, there is a pretty good reason behind the detour, and I usually follow the signs, and before long I am back on familiar road again, ready to face the next one. I am uploading early tonight, because speaking of detours, I must begin teaching a 7am class tomorrow, so I have some last minute preparations to complete tonight, and then off to bed for an early arising, not a lot of time for 365 tonight. I will catch up, and maybe even stop in momentarily to have a look. It's hard to say away. Have a good night.
Great capture and thoughts, Rick. I don't mind detours ... some have even been "a growing experience." And when I have the camera in my hand, they've often led me to a much better photo op!
Nicely said Rick! Hope the class goes well for you. One thing I've learned about detours is that sometimes they present you with great photo opportunities as well!
Road close = End of the line.but detours can take you away from where you wanted to go but funny enough after a bit of unfamiliar ground you wind up exactly where you wanted to go in the first place. it's the same in life. life's roads are not always clear to travel , some bumps are to be expected, detours are not alway bad, it's what you make of them that counts.
